Counting down to 4 months old...

As of today, KC is only 9 days away from being four months old. Wow! Time has flown by and he is growing up so much. Today, he enjoys sitting up (course with support as we are still learning to control muscles) or even standing (thanks to grandpa).

He has been hitting the early teething stages and he enjoys chewing on his hands as well as drooling more. He just recently started blowing rasberries and its cute. He does not realize he is doing it, but while he is babbling he will do it occassionally. Oh, the babbling goes on and on. Andrew and I enjoy making him giggle and seeing that huge smile on his face, but do not grab a camera as he will then just stare at you.

I look back at his pictures from birth and he has grown. His head is getting bigger and his hair is now thining out and getting lighter. I know it will return but I enjoyed it when he had a full head of hair. Now he looks like his daddy. Ha! I still love you Andrew.

I still cannot believe I was blessed to have this child. I still believe though my grandmother selected him specially for us. I hope that she will graciously grant us a beautiful daughter when we try for baby #2, which we might wait till KC is about a year or so before trying. We are thinking maximum of three children if that.

This is all the update I have at this time. We are planning a trip to Cincinnati, OH on Sept 2. Let's see how this goes as this is the farthest we have gone with KC. We will be up there for about a week before returning home. By then, the West Texas Fair and Rodeo will be in town and hopefully be bringing some rain like it always does.

Been extremely busy.

2 Months....

Well,

We finally made it to the point of 2 months (actually right now he is 10 weeks old). He is talking more and frailing his hands/arms more. He is being able to focus more by the way he looks at things. He is of course showing that he is grandpa's buddy as he turns to an angel when he comes over. I need to make a trip so he can see his nana and poppa again.

We are hoping in September we could make a trip to Ohio so he could see his pappy and great-pappy as well as great-grandma Wanda. The other side of the family who hasn't been able to see him. If we are not able to visit then we probably will not be able to make it till next year.

With that in mind, Andrew and I were looking into possible chances if we decided to move to Cape Coral/Ft. Myers, FL. Nothing is promising but it was just a thought.

As I write this blog, I have a question for those who have children. What milestone accomplishment did your child reach by the age of 2 months? I ask as I know each child reaches different things at different ages. He is moving his head around more, still little control, but he loves his hand though and most of the time it is not the sign of hunger. I have gotten him some teething rings that have soft ends but he does not understand the concept of grasping them but one day soon. I just would like to hear about others what they can remember when they were hitting between 2-3 months of age.

Its been a while...

Well, sorry I have slacked over this. Its been very busy and stressful lately.

As of June 30, that marked the one year anniversary that I lost my grandmother. I was in Tennessee when I got the call. I tried to make it home sooner but my mother knew I was driving on adrenalyn. I really miss her and wished she was here to see her great-grandchild grow. Course there are some pictures of KC that even my father noticed he looks a little like grandma. I know it skips generations but I'm glad to still be able to see her some when I look at my son.

As of July 7th, KC turned 2 months old. I can't believe in 10 more months I will be planning his 1 year birthday. Its hard to grasp but everyday he puts a smile on my face. I hear from Andrew after being gone for 6 days that he is growing so much. My father will say the same thing. I just have a hard time seeing it since I see him everyday. We have started him on mixing some Gerber's cereal in his formula. He has taken it well and it helps him sleep through the night. I can't wait for another few more months and he might be on baby food.

Well, this is going to be short but just wanted to get everyone caught up. I have returned back to work and trying to work as much OT that is offered since we are trying to save $ to make a trip to Ohio in September so KC can see his Great-grandmother Wanda and grandfather Craig (Andrew's father). We just have to get over these new obstacles we have experienced. The main one is our a/c in our house went out and we are hoping its covered under warrenty. We will find out Monday July 12.

Let's Try This Again.....

....returning back to work that is.

I was to return back to work on Friday, June 18. Well, Occupational Health (dept we are to call when we return) apparently leaves at noon and my shift doesn't start till 3:30PM. Well, the paperwork I received while on maternity leave doesn't say when they leave and what not.
After an hour of being at work to try to find someone to get my status active again (since its been placed on hold due to being out for almost 2 months...plus they are the dept that would notify payroll I was back so I can get my normal pay again with differential), I was sent home. I was actually eager to work and interact with other people besides family. Now I need to call short term disability and see if they will be paying me for Friday (since they only approved me up to the 18th and that was the day I was suppose to return to work) and let them know they should as it was not my fault I could not work.

*sigh* I just hope they get this corrected. I want to get some overtime in this week so it will be on next week's check and help us out a bit on catching up with bills. We kind of made the mistake and bought a new truck - 2010 Toyota Tundra CrewMax - that would help accomadate baby items (plenty of room in the backseat and the passenger doesn't have to move forward to the dash). It may have been an impulse buy but I know it will come in handy with the child. But the payments went up so.....the extra $$ is helpful. Oh, not to mention the medical bills we are starting to see....

Hubby is thinking about getting a part time job to help catch us up a bit. Wish I could find maybe a legit work from home job that doesn't cost to start up so I can do part time at home in between taking care of the lil' one and school. But then again, I like my free time.

Well, sorry to carry on. Going to get my day started and work out a bit while my two boys are still sleeping.

6 weeks

....WOW! That is all I have to say. Time does fly by. He is getting so big and doing so much now. He is getting to where he is cooing more and smiling. He looks for you (after starring off into space). He is definetly looking for me when he hears my voice. He is now getting where he is getting the use of holding his head up when you have him sitting up, but still loses control when he tries to look around. Soon he'll be holding it up, and in a few months we would be introducing cereal. My gosh, what to do?

On sad note, the day my son turns 6 weeks old is also the day I return to work. After almost 2 months off, I must leave my son to make the additional $ in order to provide better for him. I want him to be able to experience more than what Andrew or I was ever offered. On another good note though, K.C is starting to sleep in his crib. Its a change for me (he never really slept in our bed except during late mornings with me for a nap) but he was sleeping in his Rock N' Play sleeper and I find that the transition from this to crib is easy for him. For you soon to be mothers, you should invest in this.
