Need a change

As we complete the first half of the year, I am becoming more aware of the changes I want to do in my life but not have done anything to get started. I want to try to find a routine that will work with everyone as well as myself since I am looking at going back to school in September.

My main goal is to try to get my health on track. I've been eating fast food more often and drinking more of my Dr. Pepper than water and I know that will be a bad habit for Kolton to pick up. We did start walking a few weeks ago for almost the entire week but then the overtime kicked in and I stopped doing it. I need to get back into it as I know that was what was helping me maintain and start to lose a little more weight. I want to be more of the woman I think of trying to be instead of the woman that basically everyone has pictured. I do want to do a slight change so maybe I'll be able to have more confidence in myself.

We have paid off some debt last month and hopefully the rest of the year just gets better. We need to be able to set some $ aside for college and emergencies. This way we can start teaching Kolton the importance of budgeting money and hopefully not make too many mistakes that we have made in the past.

I am hoping as I am putting this down that I decide that I really need to get what all I hope to change get started. I wouldn't know if it will actually help me and work unless I actually try it. I think I have picked up some habits my grandmother has done and that is be there for everyone else first before yourself and I know that is what I really shouldn't do. I know I need to be there for my family but I also need to take care of myself first. If I can't, then I will not be able to help others who do need me and depend on me.

Well heading to bed as tomorrow will mark day 1 of change, hopefully......

Finally...an update on our vehicles

Here is another recap on our vehicles. These are the vehicles that Andrew and I have had since we met in Feb 06.

1) 96 Nissan P/U (my vehicle)
2) 05 Chevy Cobalt (Andrew's)
3) 98 Jeep Cherokee (traded in 1)
4) 88 Honda Civic (Andrew puchased)
5) 83 Chevy Chevette (Free vehicle)
6) 06 Jeep Wrangler (traded 2 & 3)
7) 96 Mitsubishi Eclipse (was mine, turned to Andrew's)
8) 07 Dodge Ram (traded in 6; my vehicle)
9) 92 Honda Accord (free; just till we were able to sell it)
10) 03 Chevy Avalanche (Andrew's vehicle, sold after three months)
11) 08 Toyota Scion XD (obtained a few days after sold #10)
12) 83 Jeep CJ7 (swapped #7 for, sold after a year)
13) 09 Honda Shadow Aero (our first motorcycle)
14) 05 Jeep Liberty (sold to my brother about January 2010, now it has been wrecked)
15) 10 Toyota Tundra (traded #8 in)
16) 11 Toyota Camry (hail damage sail, traded in #11)

Besides the motorcycle, we are still trying to keep up on the years. '07 Dodge in 2007, bought the '08 Scion in 2008, '09 motorcycle in 2009, '10 Tundra in 2010, and finally '11 Camry in 2011. Hopefully as we have paid off some high interest rate debt, maybe I can get the motorcycle paid off soon to have extra $$ to put back in savings. Gotta prepare whenever we are ready for baby #2.

Oh, if for those of you who are wondering...we are probably done with trading in vehicles (unless we are able to trade them in w/o rolling over into the next one) but it will probably be several years till we get another one.

9 months

I have a mobile baby now. Haha. He is in the processes of crawling but he would rather stand up over anything. Maybe he'll start walking by the time he's 1, who knows. Enjoy!

Jan 30

Counting down till I actually crash for the night and I so need to do it soon.

As I sit here trying to decide what to type, I really do not have much to say. I had it all thought out while I was doing my regular routine of picking up KC's toys and putting them in their place, cleaning my sink, and getting ready for bed but now its really not something I want to either go into detail or just cannot determine what to exactly say.

What I have to say as we end the first month of 2011 is that I actually love my life. I love my husband, my wonderful baby boy, and where I am in my life. I just hate the fact my grandmother is not here to experience it with me in person.

Now to lay down and get to sleep as I am feeling a bad headache coming as well as a stomach ache. Blah!!!

Busy....

That describes the type of day I have had today. Ever since KC allowed me to catch up on sleep from the past few days, I've been up and constantly moving. I am getting tired of the procrastination I have been showing and the lack of energy because I do not exercise.

I hope that when we can get some extra money, Andrew will allow me to buy Turbo Jam. It just looks fun and since we do not have a Wii at this time, I can workout with the videos. I could probably work out and KC can watch and laugh at me. I just love hearing him laugh.

I am starting to follow Flylady and just love how I have been keeping up keeping my sink shiny by the end of the day. I hope this will show that I use less water instead of running the dishwasher twice a week and just being able to get dirty dishes out of the way just in case of company that may surprise us.

Also today, I attacked KC's room. His room became a place where we just dumped things. We had to organize it as he will need his room soon. I got papers put away, his clothes put away (they usually stayed in the basket) and I will be washing his sheets this week as well.

He also started a new day care to help with finances. We love Day Nursery of Abilene, but finances were just getting crazy and we could barely afford the $125/week (and that was whether you used them or not, had to pay it to keep his spot). This new place is an in-home child care and two of my co-workers use her. We figured why not and possibly will get him back at Day Nursery (or KinderKare) by the time he is 18 months old. That is the goal and the latest I plan to get him back in day care so he can socialize with those his own age. He won't be 18 months old till November so we have a ways to get caught up.

Well, here are the pics of his room...before and after. Just to give ya the progress. Hope you enjoy.
